I have been on a headset spree lately. Purchased a Headsets Inc ANC with Bluetooth, a Lightspeed Delta Zulu, and a Bose A30 within the last two months. I have had an A-20 for a year or two.
There are lots of reviews of the actual headsets; this is a little different. Let's take a look at the bag the headset comes in.
First off, my opinion is that the Bose A20 bag is the best of the bunch. It is well-made, roomy enough to keep batteries, a Sentry, and a spare key, and has a perfect outside pocket for an iPad Mini. On days when I just want to take a local flight, I can just grab this one small bag and go. The only downside is that they have an interior net pocket that is open at the top or bottom, but does not really close; it just holds things like the key or aux cables in place.
The Bose A-30 bag is much smaller. It fits tightly around the headset, and the only improvement I see is that the small interior pouch for aux cables, etc, is now zippered. I can't tuck my Sentry in with it or carry my iPad Mini due to the smaller size. The material for the bag looks sturdy, but is much more like plastic rather than cloth fabric, and subjectively, I don't like it as much.
I had tried a Lightspeed Delta Zulu and did not have a good experience with the headset. They have a great return policy, so it went back and I got the A-30. The bag for the Delta Zulu is, in a word, "enormous", but strangely it does not have much extra room on the inside. I'm sure it will protect the headset very well, but the bulk is a big setback. I could fit the spare battery pack, cable to charge the main battery pack, and the Sentry inside, but no room for the iPad mini at all.
Finally, the Headsets Inc. Bag. It is really just a carry bag; it has very soft sides, no structure, and looks like it was made for the Apollo program with silver fabric and black furry velour interior. I can easily fit everything inside the bag, but as I said, it offers no real protection to the headset or devices; it just keeps them all in one place.
So, in conclusion, the Bose A-20 bag is the best of the bunch.
