The ultimate alarm clock would play the sound of a baby throwing up! I promise you will get your ass out of bed and have the lights on in a hurry!!

Cat horking works even better. Especially if it's right next to your head.

The sound of a radial engine starting up, would work for me ,if I needed an alarm clock. Being retired every day is Saturday.

Trust me, the puking infant wins hands down; even if the baby monitor is on the fritz. If you don't wake up from the noise the baby makes, the noise the mother makes WILL get you out of the rack in a hurry! If it doesn't, I wouldn't want to make odds on you making it to the next wedding anniversary.

As a dad and a cat owner, I'll observe that you don't have a cat.

It's not that the kid is ignorable; that doesn't work. But the cat is even less so.

A dog puking in your bed will get you attention as well! :yikes:

Especially when you find the reason why the dog was puking….

With cats, they just do that. With dogs, they ate something really, really, really nasty.

The best alarm clock ever is the one I use while camped in the North 40 at Oshkosh every year.

6:15am - Flight of 3 - P51 Mustangs on the roll. Nothing rolls you out of that sleeping bag like the sound of those Merlins at full throttle.

The F15 that roared by my tent did a somewhat better job. I think that guy woke up everyone in Oshkosh. I wouldn't be surprised if he woke up everyone in Wisconsin.

The morning sounds of Oshkosh almost turn me into a morning person. Almost. And it's pure awesome.

1972 a few friends and myself was camping down by the river. At a little past sunrise, a F-4 came by at low level, no I mean LOW LEVEL, after burner on and just about ripped our clothes off as it went by. It pulled almost straight up, reversed course and lined up for another run. When we saw it coming we all dived into the water. I felt that plane pass over us through the water.

We found the horses several hours later.

After we got back to town, my dad asked me if we had slept in late.....

Funny Pop... real funny. And this from man that had no sense of humor.

My dad was USAFR and TDY at Bergstrom AFB at the time. He wasn't a pilot because of his eyesight, but he was probably in the back seat.

Military flying was a lot different back then....
