I have an older (1995) Century bay boat that has a Yamaha motor with electric trim. I keep the motor all the way down when stored so imagine my surprise when I come home yesterday and the motor is all the way trimmed up and will not come down! The trim motor will come on if you trim up, but you only get a click from the relay when you trim down.

Any ideas? I'm about ready to give this boat a Viking funeral.

You'll have to go through the solenoids with an electric meter, either that or just disassemble them all and clean them, it usually takes care of the problems. To get the engine down, just open the bleed screw and it will drop. You should be storing the boat with the battery switch off, issues like this could cause it to commit itself to a Viking Suicide lol.

I thought the battery was completely dead....

Thanks, I'll try that this weekend.
