My hubby, Henry, came home to newly overhauled A-65 engine parts today for his 8A from Divco and Aircraft Specialty Services. It was like Christmas at the McFarlands.

As a wife, I feel like this gift entitles me to a year or more of servitude. I will never have to clean toilets again!

OOhhhh - Nice stuff!

I didn't know we could post porn here.

It was about 1 year ago when I was at the same place with my A75. Sweet machines I must say and I'm not even much of a gear head. Enjoy

Tell him to lap that oil pump cover and get it sealed as tight as he can. Those things let the oil leak out over time as they sit and the pump loses its prime and won't pump right off. The bearings don't get oil soon enough and they get torn up some, especially at the front of the engine, farthest from the pump. I had to tear my engine apart and get my A-65 crank ground to .010" under. They were just barely able to save it. Useable replacement cranks are almost nonexistent.

I built a manual pre-oiler pump for mine. In a homebuilt, almost anything is permissible. 20 strokes or so and the whole system's full of oil and ready to go. No more unprimed oil pump.
