Pictured is the float I referenced, above. At low tide on the Back River the float still has 5 feet depth: no problem for my 20' I/O with the Alpha One drive. If I can arrange to tie there, less expensive than my usual mooring at the marina, and a mile from my house -- just "pahk th' cahr," walk down and board without having to row the inflatable to a mooring. It'll just take a little longer to get to "open" water. But once to the Kennebec River(2 miles) the Kennebec is over 150 miles long from up North, down through here and into the ocean. The photo was taken from the bridge which is the access to this island(Georgetown).

[EDIT] The bridge, looking toward Georgetown, has since been replaced with a newer, wider bridge. This one was of the same construction as the one than "went in" in Minnesota, and had already been scheduled for replacement BEFORE the Minnesota disaster.
