75 Seconds in Mono County

It is, indeed, a beautiful area. My father, brother, and I used to pack in (out of Leavitt Meadows Pack Station near Bridgeport) every summer for a week of camping and fishing in the Sierra Nevada mountains.

Gotta love the pictures of Yosemite and Devil's Postpile... Neither of which is in Mono County.

It IS a nice place, with lots of hidden gems. It shouldn't be necessary to add stuff.

How do you get anywhere from Bridgeport? Horseback?

Mammoth is the choice if you need a car. Bridgeport has been a great breakfast stop for years but the owners of Haystreet Cafe have recently retired and its now closed.

Lee Vining's Mobil Mart is still excellent, the walk up the hill is steep.

That is a beautiful area. Not many things I miss about California, but that's one.

I concur. I have a bunch of Yosemite pics at my house. Its not the same as being there though. I wish the state wasn't so full of morons. The amount of money required to get me back is very large....sigh.

Best thing is I can get In-n-out in Dallas. Don't have to go all the way back to the mothership for that anymore.
