So I had been thinking about starting a thread called "Thinking about Ted coming to 6Y9 Fly In" and look what's happening...

So, then I thought .... "Thinking about ________________ coming to 6Y9 Fly In"

Let's see what happens...I would try and fill in the blank with every former PoA attendee but there are way too many to mention. You know who you are. I'm thinking really hard...

Hey, I'm one of the few who has actually seen a cougar at 6Y9. I was with Diz at the time. :)

That was so cool as it is very rare to spot one. I can't remember who else was in the car with us... Leslie, Mike and ?

We are trying something different for Sunday morning breakfast. It will be in the hang out room...Brad will be flipping pancakes, Leslie has offered to bring some bacon or sausage, or maybe both. Without going into detail, this seems to be our best option right now.

Spike, are you gonna make the trip this year, might be able to convince a group to bring back Human X for your arrival.

Talked to Spike on the phone today. The human X will most likely have to wait another year.

Argh! Plane is broken and I don't think it will be fixed in time. I was really looking forward to making it there this year.

Yeah, thankfully no. Not that bad at least. I took the assistance of a stranger and got hangar smash as a bonus. FML.

Friday and Monday we have local plans, so we were going Sat/Sun.

Our Mooney is still down for the annual inspection, but we will be there with our travel trailer! Depending on work and traffic, @Skywalker and I will arrive (very) late Friday night or Saturday morning and stay until Monday!

Can't wait to see everybody again! :):D

There's going to be a good contingent of us driving to the fly-in in our ground vehicles that get worse gas mileage. :)

Big Bear is nothing to worry about. It might say hot, but I've never encountered any aircraft when it is, and flown IFR to/from 6Y9 while it's been hot.

Used to get a lot of free airshows when Sawyer was still a military base. I think the guys that use Big Bear now are out of MN and hang out in Snoopy.

Gotta finish my workout, pick up my semi tires and air dryer cartridge from the shop, configure the plane for camping mode, and head out. Hope to be there mid afternoon.

I assume it's dry enough up there that a couple tenths of rain won't make the runway unusable tomorrow?

We have drain tile installed up there. Sandy soil and it dries out really quick.

I can now answer the question, "Where the hell is Sidnaw?".

@EdFred 's folks have done something truly special up there. The old school is amazing. It manages to be both post-apocalyptic and cozy at the same time. Thanks to them for the hospitality.

@Dizaster I hope it's okay I stole one of the stickers while I was defacing signing the pilot's shack this morning. I did throw a few bucks in the box; the 1976 sticker is too perfect next to my 1976 Piper in the hangar. Can't believe it's still sticky.
