60 years as the Owyhee Hilton Hotel.

We flew down to the Owyhee Reservoir State airport 28U last Sat. and helped celebrate 60 years since The Hilton Hotel,was built. One of the builders son was there with the plaque and there were 12 airplanes and about 20 people in attendance. Some from Nv. ID. OR, and WA. A good time was had by all.

Pic #2 on short final to runway 30. 1840 water on both ends. a little ski jump in the middle. dirt and gravel. A great place to fly into. It is a roadless area.

Neat! For those who don't know, 28U is on the list of Oregon's Department of Aviation "Warning" list. Their write-up is actually appealing (they even mention the Hilton):

However, as a low time pilot I don't think I'd take a rental plane there. At least, I don't think so....
