does anyone know if this is still an active field? it's listed as private and I've called the phone # a bunch of times with no answer or voice mail. it's the closest strip to the cherokee casino and sequoya national golf course, and that would be a great trip for me. thanks!

24A is an active public field, and not too far from Cherokee. Be aware of terrain, and know that several people have had problems due to fear of said terrain [it gets in the pattern for one runway, but I forget which way]. Landing towards the mountain is easier, as is taking off over the valley [watch the dropoff].
