the first pancake breakfast of the year for this area is just around the corner, as usual the first Sunday of May at Moraine Airpark! It is hosted by EAA Chapter 48.

Went last year and planning to go this one as well. There's a FAST team class as well I signed up for sometime around noon, IIRC. No charge for anything in the past. Donations are accepted.
