This August will have 5 Fridays, 5 Saturdays, and 5 Sundays. This happens every 823 years. The next time it will happen is 2837.

Just thought you would like to know. :D

No excuses not to fly in August!

Besides the fact that I hate summer? Five weekends in August is like having a second root canal on the same tooth in a month.

Interesting tidbit though.

BTW

It seems as though the probability of this happening is 1:7 and not 1:823

Edit: I was curious enough to look. The next one will be in 2025.

More evidence people will believe anything sent to them in an email.

Bon jour.

More dumbassery:

It last happened in 2008. Nebraska, where the N on the football helmets stands for "Nowledge"

I can't believe how ****ing stupid people are.

Leap years throw off the every 7 cycle.

2837 has 5 Monday's, not 5 Fridays. Hope no one was making plans.

There's an inverse relationship between stupidity and civility. Act like a dumb ass, get treated as one. Don't like it? Don't be a moron. :D
I'll agree with that.
But in general, you have to admit that you don't have to be a moron to be treated as one here in the SZ. You just have to have a different opinion than other morons.

The sz is the place where one does not have to be civil. All participants realize that.

So apparently you get a fact wrong and you're a moron and should be treated harshly. Here I was thinking only God was infallible.

My mom gave me the definition of civility: There's a clutch between your mind and your mouth. Use it.

So are you still waiting for your money from a Nigerian prince, too?

Getting a fact wrong doesn't make one a moron. Getting an email stating x, not even bothering to take 30 seconds to verify it, and passing x along as an interesting fact makes one a moron.

Check that. It took 17.5 seconds to check that the previous one was 2008 and the next one was 2025.

It took about 3 seconds to realize the error in their math.

I get it. I'd just rather have more posts of un-verified farmers almanac facts than people being jerks to others.

Except that the fact is that this isn't the SZ!

True but that's not what I said. I said the probability is 1:7 and leap year doesn't change the probability.

And everyone just lighten up on EdFred would ya. He serves a very important function here. In this thread for example, I was thinking something similar to his response but decided to be polite. I thought to myself "be good and give Ed 30 minutes or so."

He didn't disappoint. :goofy:

He says stuff so you don't have to!

;)

And here I thought it was to add levity where some was needed. At least I found it funny. Maybe that makes me a moron.

Damn, I wasn't even awake when I posted it. I thought it would be a cool fun fact for Friday. :rolleyes2:

You mean like people who don't know how to spell bonjour?
