Just patting myself on the back that I just sent my forth Private Pilot student for his initial solo today. Always a proud moment :D

Congrats! Is the bucket of water a local thing? I thought cutting off the shirt tail was the order of the day...

Well,

I moved to Israel from NJ at the age of 11. I moved back to the USA two years ago. I started my training in Israel and when I soloed there, my instructor opened up a fire hose on me, LOL.
In the Jewish religion, cutting or tearing a shirt is a sign of mourning. So instead they use the water to "wash away your ties to the ground".

I like it, its fun and it doesnt ruin a shirt, so I adopted it ;)

I cant wait for somone to solo the morning after it snows... hehehe

Awesome! How are students 1-3 progressing? Any of them get their certificate yet?

1st one dropped the course after a few solo flights.

2 and 3 got their PPL in August. I am currently working with 3 on his IFR rating.

Not too shabby! I wonder if #1 was crossing things off of his "bucket list".
