While going through an instrument cockpit check with my student, I got asked a question that I didn't know the answer too.
The student inquired what is the error limit on the CDI course vs indicated OBS course. He asked this because he noticed that the GPS is 2* off what he twisted in on the CDI.
I've looked at the 430 manual, FAR/AIM, and PHAK with no help. Apparently there isn't a limit on the amount of error between the two ?
I've always just checked for the half up/ half left needle position and the OBS showing roughly the twisted CDI.
