I wanted to give an update here since PoA has been the largest supporter of this campaign.
First off, thank you to all who donated! We ended up raising about $2k, which was roughly 1/3 of what was needed to buy this engine. The individual sold it to someone else, so that particular engine is out.
However, there are plenty of other TSIO-520-NBs out there. I do plan on buying one to overhaul. The money that was donated is going to get saved towards this goal (obviously with more money added to it in order to get to the necessary amount), and I will still post when it happens with details on the decisions made in the overhaul and the process. Fortunately, so far the engines are running well so while this is a priority, I'm hoping that we'll be able to get several hundred hours more out of the engines before having to replace one of them.
