Not sure how wide spread it is, or if its only for the 800+ club, but Capital One and Discover and ebay have a limited time FANTASITC stackable offer.

Cap One/Disc have a 'spend $20 get $10' rebate going on and e-bay is a listed vendor. Also e-bay has a NEWFINDS20 promo code for 20% off.

5kg spools of PETG are $50.49 -20% = $44.43 - $10 CC rebate so that's $34.43 for 5kg of PETG $6.88/kg

The ebay code ends 08AUG26

Impressive. I don't use 5kg spools though, I use 1kgs and pay about 2x that -- what printers can run 5kg? My little ender 3 I think would choke. :)

Any printer can run 5kg... it just lasts longer. A top feeder might struggle with the weight but have an enclosure and feed from outside the box. Most dryers and AMS units can't hold them but you can always dry them in an air fryer or a bag with desiccant. I just ran a job that ran out 80% of the way on a used 1kg spool... luckily I was there to pause the print and change the filament... now that's just not going to be an issue.

Slicer apps are decent at estimating the amount of filament you need, but unless you are starting with a full spool you really never know how many meters are on it.

I've seen some mostly-3D-printed re-spooling machines where people take a 5kg spool and empty it onto five empty used 1kg spools.

I plan on doing this just as a project. I'm hoping the Sunlu filament welder/joiner thing gets an upgrade as initial reviews were not great and I don't want to spend the $$$ for a more expensive unit.
