3CK Crash

Bummer, it always hits home a little more when it's your home field.

I remember around 3pm yesterday I was taking a coffee break at work (about 20 mi away from 3CK) and was looking out over the field of long grass next to the building I work in. The wind was whipping up the grass in a mesmerizing way, and the trees were waving back and forth. And I thought, "wow, not a day to fly". On the drive back home I heard the news. :(

That is an odd one. So far from the airport, right side up?? Perhaps some vertical shear. Sad!

The weather around here was pretty heavy in isolated spots. Lots of hail. My dad was out on the porch for his afternoon nap and came in to get me -- saw some cumulus clouds just billowing upward. The fastest vertical development I'd ever seen. Though that was closer to about 4~5pm than 3.
