$30 landing fee proposed at Falcon Field, AZ

So 90% of their funding comes from my federal tax dollars and they still charge like it’s a private transaction, sounds like a scam

Pay all the federal money back to each tax payer and I’ll entertain $30 to land there

And even then, it’s Mesa AZ…uhh no
That's not where Airport Improvement Program dollars come from. It comes from fuel taxes; the Feds pool the fuel tax around the country, then divvy it up to the airports in AIP grands. Last time I checked (and it's been a few years since I worked GA projects), General Aviation airports get up to $150k/year, plus discretionary if there are additional dollars left over that didn't get used. They can save up to 4 years of grand dollars ($600k) to be able to pay for larger projects that way, without having to dip into discretionary (which aren't guaranteed).

But still, I get your sentiment.
