Noticed that AOPA has the recordings of this year's Archie Awards up.

A couple of these, you just shake your head... the pilots sound like they shouldn't have been signed off on a BFR due to their lack of understanding emergency procedures. Others are just in bad situations but keep their heads about them. I don't want to pick on them, but I like to listen to these every year, and think about how I would handle similar situations.

In all of them, the controllers do a great job. Thanks to all the controllers out there who are there when we need them.

The Great Lakes Region takes place at Dubuque Regional which I used to call my home airport. Sounds like the guy got disoriented on the ILS 36. I listen to them all every year and it makes very happy that we have such professional controllers.

This was incredibly visual for me - even though it is just an audio file. Makes me wonder how I'd handle a true emergency.
