Video of the First Annual Palm Springs AeroClassic air show in November 1965. Wonderful footage of a simpler time in general aviation, featuring Jimmy Stewart and Arthur Godfrey, with cameos by other legends of the industry.
In my 50 years and 4,400 hours of flying I can honestly say I've never acknowledged a clearance with "Okie-dokie." But then I'm not an Air Force general.
There was no second annual AeroClassic. The 1965 show was beset by horrible weather and other problems. Interesting contemporary Flying Magazine article here (scroll down to page 100):
