Here she is after a 5 year restoration by the gifted Barry Taylor and help from many many other craftspeople.
All of the Parrakeets have names with 'rose' in them. I'm calling her Rose'. (Yes there's a reason ;-) )

Pics taken at Antique Airfield in Blakesburg IA in late June by Brent Taylor.

GOOD JOB !!

That looks like a lot of fun to fly.

Thanks guys!

Yup, great fun to fly. Light on the rudder and elevator, almost RVish;-) Ailerons a bit heavier. Cruise at 120 mph, land around ~40 (not looking at the A.S. at that point...)
I'm still working to match up with her other capabilities.

I'm a lucky guy.

C-90-8FJ (fuel injected). She snorts with those short stacks;-)

The Rose Parrakeet is one of my long time favorites.
I just ran into a homebuilt one last month at a southern Minnesota fly-in. He was flying along side his son, who was flying the Hatz.
Thanks for the photos, they're beautiful.

I don't know what happened to Harold Hanson's Rose. It might still be at Concrete WA.

Harold collected and restored the "common" man's airplanes.

Really like that plane!
There is a fantastic you-tube vid of the Hatz and that Rose flying together.

Looked her up on FAA n-number registry. Looks like the museum still has her. :)
