I am trying to narrow down what aircraft to pursue. I am seriously considering a 182P,Q,R as it seems to fit my mission well. I have flown several vintages of 172's, but no 182's. Most of my time is in Pipers including a HP endorsement in a Lance and the majority of my time in arrows.

I wanted to find a 182 nearby to get some dual time in it and see how much I like it. The 182's I found at local airports for rental / dual are S or T models. I know these have the Lycomings compared to the older ones with Continentals. The power rating is the same though.

For those with experience in both vintages, can I fly a newer S or T model and get a comparable feel? I want to get an idea of interior space/comfort, climb performance, and handling. I also want to see how they land.
