Hi, looks like the dukes (Red) aux fuel pump has developed a leak at the little "breather" tube that comes from the pump thru the bottom of the fuselage. IA says its pump replacement time.
After spending a full day searching, I am not having much luck in getting either an overhauled unit or a "new" unit. Lead times are greater than 6 to 8 weeks, if they will quote a lead time

IPC says P/N is C291506-0102. also seems to be Dukes 1500-00-35

Rapco says they aren't doing them
CJ / McFarlane says they can't do them either because of lack of parts.

Any alternatives ? Other places. (I'd prefer not to do pick-n-pull, but also not really find this specific part either in pick-n-pull places)

Thank you

Are you sure that's the right Cessna PN? That comes up as a facet pump, of which Textron has 32 in stock.

edit: Looks like that is the right pump for earlier SNs, but C291504-0204 is the one that crosses to the dukes 1500-00-35. Textron does have one OHEX in stock for $1775. The Weldon XC18025-B is PMA'd for the C291504-0204, but seems to be on backorder everywhere. Preferred Air Parts appears to have 2 1500-00-35 in overhauled condition in stock.

Cessna was, when I retired, selling Weldon pumps to replace the unavailable Dukes pumps. But we ran into issues: that Weldon is more efficient, meaning that it uses less amperage to generate the same pressure and volume of fuel, and with the microswitch-operated resistors in the circuit, the voltage was not being dropped enough to get the correct pressures for emergency operation. Could flood the engine and kill it. Cessna admitted the problem and sent me the correct resistors.

Hi, Yup, I got the wrong number. Correct part number is C291504-0204
Scott over at Preferred Air Parts got me squared away with a reasonably priced unit. Hope to receive it this friday.
Thank you Ryan....

Hi Dan,
where is the microswitch and the resistors ?? Are they inside the pump ?? I'd love to know what the proper values are if you can share.... Thank you

What airplane do you have? And what engine? The difficulty was with injected engines in Cessnas.

Hi Dan,
Cessna 1982 C172RG (Cutlass), O-360-F1A6, not injected
Then you won't have the resistors or microswitches. The only purpose of the pump is to keep the fuel flowing if the engine-driven pump fails.

In the injected systems, the pump generates more pressure to take over if the engine's pump fails. This is on Continental engines, btw. There are two resistors, one bridged by the microswitch on the fuel servo, the other bridged by the pump switch on the panel. The system varies the pump speed to approximate the varying fuel pressure as RPM changes so that the mixture remains in a combustible range.
