17,000 new or revised approaches?

I use Anywhere Map as my primary chart viewer. Last update found 17,000 some odd approach plates to update; that is all of them I think (for continental US, Alaska and Hawaii). I am updating again today and this time it found 13,521 plates to update.

Are there significant numbers of plates being modified? Is this due to some digital conversion which is identified as an "update". Is this just occurring with Anywhere Map?

That was my first thought. The last revision was small. Wondering about the next one.

I wish our local approach plates would get updated. They still show the wrong ASOS freq after 5+ years...

If you report that to 9-AMC-Aerochart@faa.gov they might actually get around to correcting the error.
