I'm flying again into the Rhinebeck Airshow September 7.
Except.....
I got a call today that 2 of the 3 Cubs have engine problems.
One had a prop strike. The engine is off the plane and out to be rebuilt.
The second has either a collapsed lifter or, the rear intake cam lobe is shot.

The third plane is flyable, but it is seriously tail heavy, and the elevator trim is jammed in the full down position.
I'm scrambling to find another plane.

Pictures from last year. I'm flying lead.

You flying in for the R/C show? 'Cuz their Cub event is on the 14th...

Why don’t they just fix the trim issue in airplane 3? That shouldn’t take very long.

The last 3 years I brought models, and was so busy working I didn't get a chance to fly any of them.
That's why I try to bring the Cub. I at least get to fly that in and out. :)

The 80hp Cub still has no engine from the prop strike last year.
The 65hp needs a carb. It's on order. Maybe it will be done in time. It's the prettiest of the 3 Cubs and has no bad habits.
They did fix the trim on the 90hp Cub I flew yesterday. I could do it in that plane, but it's very tail heavy. Spins, especially to the left, get VERY exciting.
And it's just sooooo ratty.
It's the J3 version of a "rat rod". That's the plane pictured above.
