New to flying and planning a family trip shortly. I haven't seen any ear protection for this age range and I'm wondering what everyone does for their little ones.

Go to a NASCAR race, they have them for kids, some just ear protection, some have radios

We tried these on our 2-month old, but the band kept falling over his eyes causing panics:

Once he fell asleep, he left them on and was fine.
From 8 months on we used: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001ET5XAI/ref=wms_ohs_product?ie=UTF8&psc=1
they had to be convinced to keep them on, but once they get it, they work great. Unfortunately, they are no longer available exactly there, but I think there is the equivalent on amazon.
We later purchased http://www.aircraftspruce.com/pages/av/headsets_youth/c45-10.php so that he could hear and talk to us. He really likes to hear us, it is comforting, it's kinda isolated in the back seat without any way of communication. On the other hand, he's pushing 4 now, and has recently really begun to use the mic in earnest. The problem with them is that they fit my head just fine and the ear cups are standard size (a bit large for any small kid's head).
Hope that's helpful.
