0.25 bac going for third class

You've left off the hims neuropscyhologist. about $3.5K these days.
....you can do this...
If required. I was sober many years, no DUI, very active in AA and other recovery groups, many letters from sponsors, other pilots, professional colleagues, etc.. CAMI did not ask for a neurocog screen to my surprise and that of my HIMS AME.

Congratulations, you are in league with several of my friends who went solid, and were long term successful.

AA and the terrible coffee.......Try volunteering to clean the coffee maker, with steel wool if needed. That can be miraculous, and can not hurt.

Are you not aware that cleaning the coffee maker is against the group conscience in most AA fellowships???
At least emptying and cleaning ash trays are a thing of the past.

So, my journey was just under 2 years long. I didn't BS anything, was willing to do whatever the requirements were, and I fully believe that level of genuine ownership and admission/honesty favored me. And, me AME and HIMS psychiatrist are both absolute rockstars.
This would make an excellent motivational presentation for High School seniors. Decisions have consequences.

Wow, it's been a year! A couple updates...

The psychiatrist I went to knew his stuff and did a bang up job on his report. It was 4 months later than promised with tons of excuses why, but it finally got done and delivered to the FAA around Thanksgiving.

Last Thursday when I randomly checked MedXpress, it gave me a status of "in review".

I checked this morning and it said decision in process. Checked again an hour ago and it is APPROVED!!!

No cogscreen, no IOP. Still attending AA regularly and will keep doing so regardless. I even chair every Friday at our group.

If you have a similar situation, just be patient.

Happy to see you got your medical! I sent you a message.

The length (2 years) is helpful for others.
Would you mind sharing the total costs (also to give others an idea).
Congrats.

Who hurt you?! It's against the group conscience of any AA group to clean the coffee maker. Pretty sure you have to say the serenity prayer like the rosary for that offense.

I made the decision early on that our coffee was going to be good and took on the grocery shopping for our group. Cases of water and Folgers Black Silk may not be a fancy shopping list, but at least we have good coffee!

I actually clean regularly. Most folks might not give a hoot about stains around the sink drains but it drives me bonkers. It's not glamorous lol, but coffee, water, and a clean sink are what I bring to the club.
