    Turboprop vs piston question

    This is probably a dumb question... but why don't more single engines use small turbines instead? Their reliability is better, they use jet fuel (seems preferable to 100LL), they don't vibrate as much (I think?), and from what I understand they require less maintenance. It's kept me wondering...
