    School me on Minecraft

My kids love Minecraft, it’s a fun game to play. My 5 year old loves to design thing and builds them. My 9 year old plays too, but, is slowly moving away from it. It always them to be creative, which is super important at that age. And I enjoy discussing their builds with them. Break: each...

Car Insurance, who do you have?

Usaa, I tried liberty mutual, but, the car replacement is a joke. I had a horrible experience with them during a claim. They have no honor.

    Frontier Pilots Ready To Walk

It reminds me of military pay, and the seniority there. I hate that type of system, as it rewards laziness. What is the potential strikes goals? More pay? What else, as it cannot just be about money.

    Chevy Volt

As I posted about my driving speeds earlier. What I notice is (Our family car is a Toyota Sienna Minivan) that people HATE being passed by either our Prius or Minivan. Its like they have a complex or something. 95% of the time on i10, when I go to pass someone, they notice the car and speed...

    Chevy Volt

2017 Prius here. Set the cruise at 90 on toll road around Austin. Still got 48 mph. Drove the whole road, great fun. I also enjoy the lane assist and auto breaking with interval control with cruise control. One day, when I can pay cash for it, I will get the Tesla model X. Ah one day

An Electric Flying Machine is here!

Hey yeah, my next car, when I can maybe afford one! Reminds me of the 80’s TV show mask. Loved that show growing up

    Chevy Volt

I have a 2017 Prius, I actually enjoy the car a lot, but, I keep looking at the Bolt. My gripe about the Volt is it was a 4 seater until recently. I need a 5 seater, as we have 5 in the family.

    Options I’m looking at

Thanks all for the input. I’m waiting to hear back about the hangar. I’m not flying anything until then, as I don’t want to drive 30 or 40 minutes to another airport. And I know myself enough to know that if I fly something and like it, I will buy it. I have looked into air park living, and...

That comes with any new aircraft. Safety and knowing the aircraft are key, IMO

    Texas

97 in San Antonio right now 6:45 with a nice breeze. Pool is 90, again, a pool in Texas was the only way my wife got me to stay. I’m from New England, but, don’t miss the snow at all. Yet, it snowed in December right before Christmas. It was great fun, and melted by the morning. Just enough...

    Options I’m looking at

Flight design was what I originally wanted. I went to their place in Woodstock, CT. Tom straight up told me to get a PPL. I was young and eager, he turned me off, so I went with a Cirrus. Glad I did. But, now I just want a two seater.

    Options I’m looking at

I might have access to a hangar that’s about 10 minutes from the house, so now I’m shopping for an aircraft. I’m looking at the Flight Design airplane or the Cavalon Gyrocopter. I’m torn, my mission is fun with a little bit of XC involved. Does anyone have experience with either of them? Thanks

    Chevy Volt

Not long ago the Sec and FBI raided CAT’s HQ. the stock went on to a 52 week high. Don’t believe everything that you hear.

    UNFAIR FAA PRACTICES-PTSD-PLEASE READ

Both government agencies, the VA wants a separating service member to fully document their medical issues. That way the VA is on tap further down the line for those problems. This is in complete contrast to the FAA who is a gate keeper to the aviation world, who prefers a clean medical bill of...

Night Flight: How Should I Go About Getting Better

Go above 7500’ and head out to somewhere. Follow the roads, pick out the towns, etc. a great way to enjoy night flights. As someone said earlier, and I might get blasted here, but, get into a habit of flying the instruments for your transition phases. I bought my Cirrus Sr20 at 49 hours...

    Chevy Volt

That’s the break even at today’s price, what happens if it gets to $4? In San Antonio we are at $2.50 right now.

How to handle service bullitens for corrosion on a new purchase?

Depending on SBs are worded, I would negotiate it into the price or potentially walk away. But, I can only speak to how I do it. As for a prebuy vs annual. I also turned my prebuy into an annual.

    Chevy Volt

Depending on your capital gain tax amount, I would buy the car. I had a similar situation in 2016, I ended up doing solar on the house for a 30% write off. But, in my situation I spent $40K to save $12K in capital gains. But, going solar or cheap on gas car is great! It will potentially...

How to handle service bullitens for corrosion on a new purchase?

Negotiate it into the selling price, and be prepared to walk away. If it is not done, have it done during the prebuy by your mechanic. You pay for the prebuy and the seller pays for that portion and any squawks that make it unairworthy. You pay or defer all other squawks that you find.
