No Ammeter Reading - Would You Scrub?

sorry for the double post! i want to quote/ reply so many of these because of how much i appreciate the insight. glad that my thinking was sound, this reinforces my decision and is a reminder to myself that i am a good, safe (new) pilot. :) just for ultimate clarity: the ammeter is the only...

No Ammeter Reading - Would You Scrub?

i gave them a call and let them know as well as marked it down as a squawk in the book. looks like the plane went out later in the day - they didn’t seem too concerned at the moment, but i’m not sure if they had a mechanic go check it between myself and the next rental. in general they’re known...

No Ammeter Reading - Would You Scrub?

Drove the hour out to KFRG this morning to go for a nice scenic leaf peeping flight through the Hudson Valley before work in a rented Warrior III, with a digital ammeter / charge indicator. Once I got through run-up, noticed the gauge wasn't reading at all - not even zero, just completely inop...

NYC Area, which frequency to use for Flight Following?

Totally fair, I am a brand new PPL after all :) - in general, I'm usually fine with finding frequencies (including when there's some sort of notation around heading / direction / time associated that denotes where and when to call), but I was more confused around which of the many frequencies in...

NYC Area, which frequency to use for Flight Following?

Brand new PPL here, based out of KFRG and realizing a question that I'd forgotten to ask my CFI, and a question that I'm a little embarrassed to ask because I feel I should know the answer- During my long XC, I planned a route of KFRG -> KPOU -> KHFD. After taking off from FRG, I tuned into...

So, student pilots.. Who are we and where do we stand?

Checking in here, flying out of KFRG with 24 hours under my belt (+1.3 solo time!) about to go into my first night flight this evening, and getting ready to take the knowledge test after making my way through Sporty's online ground school & multiple practice tests

3rd Class Medical on Friday - Asthma when Very Young Question

Gotcha - Will give that a shot. I'm realizing I probably didn't provide as much detail as I should have on the form itself... Thank you!

3rd Class Medical on Friday - Asthma when Very Young Question

Hi all, current student pilot and have my 3rd class medical coming up on Friday - I included that I had asthma from ages 5-12 or so on my FAA med application. I've since grown out of it, and it hasn't affected me in almost 20 years. I haven't been prescribed an inhaler, or seen a doctor for...
