If you can get half bottles of Duckhorn you won’t be disappointed. Good stuff... Not sure where you are located but if you have a wine store close, go in and talk to them. They could probably order you what you need in smaller bottles.

What he said. Also, if you are a techie, get the Gleim online PPL training program and go through their modules to the tune of a section a night for 30 days. After a month with consistent practice test scores of 80% and above, you’ll be good to go. The pass rate on the PPL written was over 90%...

Marvin was a great guy....he had a nice little personal field just north of KGEV back when I was flying up there 10 or so years ago. As for Ocracoke, I made a couple landings out there yesterday and it’s still closed to tourist from Hurricane Dorian. I think it opens back up sometime next week.

I ran this same rabbit about a year ago and ended up with a 182. Very happy with my decision. 182's just seem to be the best value out there in a high-wing and there's a huge resale market for them. 206's although roomier are going to be harder to fly, more expensive to operate, more expensive...

I went with the Tailbeacon because of the uniformity of having the same wingtip strobes. Either option is hard to beat for the total cost.

You should check out the Yamaha Viragos. I've had two of them (535 & 750) along with a Harley and a number of dual sports. The Virago's were great bikes and definitely in your budget.
