    Got COVID?

Translation: Thank you for doing my bidding as I have commanded of you, but now that you’ve taken the time to do so I’ve decided it doesn’t support the false premise I’m attempting to make so I can’t be bothered to actually read it.

    Got COVID?

Report verb 1. give a spoken or written account of something that one has observed, heard, done, or investigated. I have no desire to debate sources with you and make you the arbitrator of what you consider to be adequate or inadequate. Truthfully, I’m not sure why you think you deserve that...

    Got COVID?

That seems like an effective way for mature adults to have a conversation. Seems like just letting people share their personal experiences is too much for some to handle.

    Got COVID?

Disappointed at how you guys are so afraid of an open dialogue that you do everything possible to silence a discussion or even an attempt to gather information about people’s personal experiences. I tried to frame the question in an objective manner and gave no opinions, attacks or criticisms...

    Got COVID?

I’ve been reading sporadic reports online about people testing positive for COVID after attending Oshkosh this year. Just wondering if anyone has any direct experience with this or if it is all just rumors?

    COVID Vaccine FAQ

I just finished my 45 minute state-mandated training on how to give vaccines. I guess our county is doing a better job than most in mobilizing volunteers. If there are any medical providers out there the medical reserve corps is a good way to volunteer and be part of the solution. They’re even...

    COVID Vaccine FAQ

Well, I’m a person too and I tend to adjust the content and delivery of my message depending on who I’m addressing. I tried to start this as a very straightforward passing on of information from a reliable source to people who may not otherwise be aware of that information (see the first post)...

It sometimes helps to understand the title of the thread if you read the first post. I know that’s asking a lot...

    COVID Vaccine FAQ

Well, so far “relying on people to do the right thing” has worked pretty well during this pandemic so why not stick with the same winning plan? After all, it’s not like almost half a million Americans haven’t died from this. Saw a kid with MIS-C last night. Pediatric Hospitalist said it’s the...

    COVID Vaccine FAQ

It looks like Santa Barbara County has a partnership with local pharmacies to distribute the vaccine. Have you tried contacting the County?

Does the “compliance philosophy” apply to FAA employees?

Just read this article today about an FAA employee arrested for being part of the Capitol riot. Will be interesting to see how the FAA responds to it. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.usnews.com/news/us/articles/2021-01-22/faa-employee-charged-with-taking-part-in-us-capitol-riot%3fcontext=amp

    COVID Vaccine FAQ

Anecdotally, women seem to have stronger reactions than men to the second vaccine. I suggested it was proof than men tolerate discomfort better than women but then retracted that statement after some of the nurses at work suggested seeing how much discomfort I was able to tolerate. That being...

    COVID Vaccine FAQ

For those of you reading this thread, Tylenol and Motrin may also NOT cause significant difference in the COVID vaccine response so when you’re lying in bed with fevers, chills and rigors feel free to take a Tylenol. Or not. Some people are into needless suffering. If the effect of this vaccine...

    COVID Vaccine FAQ

I had a very mild reaction to the second shot. My wife gets her 2nd one on Monday so I took a couple of days off in case she doesn’t feel well afterwards. I was actually a little bummed I didn’t have a more dramatic response. My arm pain when away with a Tylenol.

    COVID Vaccine FAQ

2nd one is a little more exciting but I have yet to meet someone who regrets getting it. What was surprising to me was that even the healthcare providers who were saying this was no big deal all along are jumping at the opportunity to get vaccinated. I guess actions speak louder than words (this...

    COVID Vaccine FAQ

This is an excellent resource for those who have questions about the vaccines that comes from a trusted source (Infectious Disease Society of America). I will not add any commentary. https://www.idsociety.org/covid-19-real-time-learning-network/vaccines/vaccines-information--faq/

Experiences while flying GA in the past year

Always nice to see someone who makes a big deal about pointing out that he’s a doctor bragging about not wearing masks and spreading misinformation on “inflated” COVID deaths, as well as calling the disease an “upper respiratory infection.” I guess that’s like calling a AAA a “belly ache.” For...

    COVID Vaccine (2)

Completely asymptomatic patients don’t get any specific “treatment” other than contact tracing and close monitoring. That being said, many are actually “presymptomatic” and will eventually go on to develop symptoms, just not yet (these are the people who show up at the tent and say “my son has...

    COVID Vaccine (2)

I agree with you to an extent, but I also disagree. I think EVERYTHING on the internet should be taken with a grain of salt, however, that doesn’t mean it’s all untrue. I’m assuming you’re not working in an ER or ICU setting because most of the people I know who work in those settings do post...
