What do you folks think of the new Cessna TTx

I have a Cessna and a Cirrus, and while the vernier controls absolutely allow you a bit more accurate fine-tuning, either way you're going to get so used to your plane you can put the mix or throttle right where you want it whichever controls you have. I just like the throttle more because I...

    Cirrus v. Bonanza

We are all pretty slim, it was right at the edge of the envelope, no bags. Useful load with full full is about 650lb in my plane, and we each weigh about 150.

    Cirrus v. Bonanza

I agree with you exactly. At first it kind of mattered since I was vetting aircraft based on the opinions of people online, but when I actually flew one I completely stopped caring. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Cirrus v. Bonanza

Bill, I'm someone who was in your exact place only two months ago. I was originally planning on spending around $100k on a Bo or a Deb for mainly leisure and business flying. However, as soon as I got in a Cirrus for a demo flight I did on a whim, I was sold on it, and right there my budget had...

The Most Difficult Part of IFR Aviation

For me it's definitely receiving IFR clearances, especially in the air, in an area you're unfamiliar with. Flew to San Antonio VFR yesterday for the first time and had to file pop up IFR since I ran into weather. The controller was throwing all kinds of unfamiliar names at me and I had no idea...

    IFR finish up in Dallas

I just got my instrument rating at American Flyers in Addison. Awesome flight school, one of the best in the area. I've heard good things about Slipstream as well but it's farther from you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Should I fire my CFII?

Just talk to the guy about it. Nothing wrong with an honest conversation to clear the air. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Happy Robert E. Lee's birthday!

Abraham Lincoln asked General Lee to be the first commander of the Union armies. You were right about idiots self identifying, you've managed to identify yourself clearly. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    ForeFlight question

Whenever I hold my finger down, a screen with the active times pops up, and it briefly shows the restricted area colored but goes away quickly. Any way to keep it on there? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Anyone still use VORs?

VOR's are a lot more useful for instrument than for private. I wondered the same thing before getting my IR. They're not useful for much else but cross checking the position when VFR. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Another Cirrus Parachute "Save" 12/29

How do you even forget the switch tanks in a Cirrus? Even their oldest planes' avionics constantly reminds you to do so. Real lack of attention by this pilot, though everyone makes mistakes and I'm glad he's safe. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Fly-In Proposal Ideas (Central Texas)

Holy crap. I can't believe I haven't heard of this! I've been down to Port A but it was before I was a pilot. That's an amazing idea. I'm going to have to pay you guys a visit soon :) You don't have to put me on the payroll, just give me a free room for a night ;) Sent from my iPhone using...

    Thank you, Bruce. :)

Yes, but you could assume they would also have the same passion for aviation. The same way the clones on Kamino were not born with all of Jango Fett's abilities and were trained on the planet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
