    Dog on a plane

I have flown over 520 animals, none seem to care about in cabin noise.

    Cessna 210 Crash - Payson, AZ - 4 Dead

This is GA - if you look at the FAA accident database, this happens nearly everyday.

Where to get spin training on the east coast?

I just did that during my bi-annual flight review, nothing like staring directly down at the ground while you spiral :D

    520

Exactly why I'm going for the commercial "certadorsement"; I do fly outside of this but it's nominal; I still may need to get an operators cert, not completely sure yet as need to revisit the discussion with my local FSDO, who has been very supportive thusfar. Once we have an aircraft I'll be...

    520

' Organization - I have no desire to own the aircraft as this is the only flying I do. Working on my commercial endorsement now, just for this reason :)

    520

is the number of animals I've flown to new lives since May of 2015. Now, we are on target to purchase our own aircraft, hopefully in the next few months. A short video of pawsengers from this past year :)

Things I've learned from Youtube about Engine Outs

Here's my engine out in the patter in a Warrior a few years back.

Had my first inflight magneto failure yesterday

Last I had heard was the right magneto was replaced, I haven't flown it since; I usually fly the Arrow as it helps me move more animals faster, only went to 80A that day as the Arrow was booked.

    Current desktop flight sim recommendations

I still use FSX; I also have X-plane 10, and Prepar3d as well; they each have their advantages. X-Plane will simulate icing conditions and such - Prepar3d is the old version of Microsoft's FSX brought into the current day after Lockheed Martin purchased the rights. Both will be demanding of...

    Aircraft theft?

they make mini GPS trackers today - but it's not really the answer - if the area is that insecure that people can repeatedly steal the equipment that would be a bigger concern to me. Otherwise special security screw hardware or a cockpit cover so that can't see what you have, IDK.

    Calculating fuel burn

I over estimate - the Arrow I fly for rescue holds 48 gallons useable - I usually take what the book or gauge says and add 1GPH, then subtract extra for climb and taxi - I never, EVER want to put a plane down because of fuel exhaustion.

Cherokee down near Cable airport, California

We were taught to fly using VOR's, pilotage, and ground reference. I use FF on an iPad, strapped to my leg, so that I can easily fly any of my FBO's rental equipment and not worry about what technology it does or doesn't have. I have FF on my iphone as a backup, and paper charts in my bag as a...

First time buy - Archer vs Arrow?

As someone who as almost 300 hours between a Warrior, Archer, and Arrow, I would recommend the Arrow; The Archers are great for shorter hops; they both have removable rear seats and load capacity is fairly close. The speed of the Arrow will save you money on longer trips, that will most likely...

Had my first inflight magneto failure yesterday

Unfortunately not - I work with rescues in the south, and meet them in VA to bring animals up to the NE for rescue. There is a large animal overpopulation problem in the south; is this the answer? absolutely not - however it saves just a few from euthanization by getting them to no kill...

I was thinking about that - sending them something as a thank you for their help.

Had my first inflight magneto failure yesterday

I always have a pup ride shotgun, but have never had a real problem - as you mentioned I pay very close attention to personality traits before loading the one that will be copilot. This past flight puts us at 483 animals since May of 2015, hoping to hit 500 by end of year. I only ever had one...

Had my first inflight magneto failure yesterday

The one time I had a 140lb Great Dane in the Arrow - this dog was so big he could barely sit down, and had to ride behind the seats to fit.

Had my first inflight magneto failure yesterday

This is the only reason I fly - I've had up to 23 in a Piper Archer. I'm hoping with a 205 or 206 I can get up to 50. I'm highly focused on efficiency, I pack as many crates in as space and weight and balance will allow.

Had my first inflight magneto failure yesterday

Here's the ATC audio; I pulled it from LiveATC and edited out the other traffic. Conversation starts right after they asked if I was declaring.
