They are purely flying for chem-trail purposes.

    DPE PPL price

Looking back on my instructor days I probably did a few students a disservice. I may have been way too demanding for perfection. That said, I never had a student fail. I did have a couple opt for a different instructor. #happy those days are well behind me

    Base leg altitude

You all seem to be talking about a closed pattern (more or less) in small airplanes, at uncontrolled airports. Putting anyone of those parameters aside, “downwind” can become much different.

So that implies it is NOT instructors just building hours for airlines.

Challenger Jet down in Truckee CA 7/26/21

If proper CRM, and SOP’s were in place, the entire cockpit communications, and hopefully actions, would have been different. The PM would NEVER have extended the brakes, and certainly not without announcing it. I don’t expect most here to understand how SOP’s work. Heck, in the charter...

Challenger Jet down in Truckee CA 7/26/21

This accident is an example of needing to establish, and adhere to strict SOP’s. Generally speaking charter outfits lack that in the first place, and bringing in a contract pilot makes it near impossible. This is a prime example. There can only be one captain, but he must be the captain. In...

    Why haven't you been to a POA fly-in ?

Whatever. I’m not sure why you are trying to psycho analyze me. There is no hidden meaning in what I’m saying. I’m a fairly social person, and would have nothing against meeting folks from the boards. Of course I’m not so excited to do it that I clear my schedule and transport myself half way...

    Why haven't you been to a POA fly-in ?

It wasn’t so much as my career, but rather the criticism of my interpreting of things doesn’t bother me at this point in my life. I’m a high time airline Capt, and if someone doesn’t like if I say atitp, I don’t give a crap. I use my best judgment, and if folks here don’t like it… I don’t give...

Challenger Jet down in Truckee CA 7/26/21

And that’s why airlines do not certify pilots for circling approaches. I know of no airline that types in a jet for circling. (I’m certain someone here will disprove this). My A320 type is restricted to VFR circle only. I have seen some ATP certificates with no circling regardless of type.

Any rules against what you put as your flight ID?

I always thought the call sign was an FCC thing, not FAA. But wtf do I know?? I never applied for one.

    Why haven't you been to a POA fly-in ?

Well, everyone also gets invited to the high school dance, but we all know how that goes. Look, I’m not complaining. I do realize I could indeed participate. I’m just answering the question of why more folks don’t come. And yes…. POA can be a hostile place for some new comers asking newbie...

    Commercial Confusion

Oh my gawd…. I did my PP 61, easy enough. My IR and CP 141. I did not worry about any of this crap. ATP came with the territory. FAA audited logbook for written sign off. Times were easier. I have a CFI (expired), but somehow things were much less complex back then. I would never want to...

IFR in a different category question

I’ve never heard that on the ground, but interestingly enough I have heard it in the air.
