    Who wants a cheap Bo??

Working on airplanes with my dad = a fun learning experience. Talking to a bank who has no vested interest in helping me = a pain in the ass. If this was a DC-3 or a T-6, I'd do absolutely anything to get that plane in my hands; however, when it comes to an unairworthy F35 Bonanza... eh- not...

    Who wants a cheap Bo??

It's not their lien, that's the problem. It shows on the title search as theirs but they have no record of it and I'm just not convinced they would put their neck out to call it satisfied when it could still be in the hands of another lender or collections agency. The fact of the matter is...

    Who wants a cheap Bo??

It sounds like he has another buyer up his sleeve coming out next week anyway so I'm sure it'll see the skies again. She will survive!

    Who wants a cheap Bo??

Here's the problem: they don't have record of the account at all. After 36 years, I wouldn't be surprised if it was just lost in paperwork somewhere. I did not ask them to sign off on the loan but based on my experience in consumer lending, I don't foresee a lender proclaiming a loan satisfied...

    Who wants a cheap Bo??

Bad news, the title search came back yesterday showing a lien which was secured in 1980 but there are not remarks showing it was paid off. I called the bank and they have no record of the lien whatsoever, which is strange because even if it was paid off, they should have record of it. There's...

    Who wants a cheap Bo??

Well, it actually wasn't that bad. I ordered a title search today and if it comes out clean, I'm going to go pick it up. The body was straight, no signs of corrosion that I could see. All the glass and seals were perfect. The panel was clean, everything looked original so it'll need some...

    Who wants a cheap Bo??

I have no clue, the guy says the title is in his name but I don't believe it. I guess we'll cross that bridge when we get to it because who knows, maybe those are old pictures and the thing is actually beyond salvageable.

    Who wants a cheap Bo??

I just called the guy and it sounds like he's anxious to get rid of it. I'm heading out to look at it tomorrow, wish me luck!

    Recommended Instrument Rating Ground School

I used Gleim and it was just fine for me but if you're more of a visual learning, it's probably best to stick with a ground school that has videos worked into the course.

Just turned 21... What'd you do for your 21st birthday?

I went out to a college town, got a whole bunch of free drinks, then when home to hang out on the bathroom floor for a little while. The worst part is that I remember absolutely everything. Don't do what I did.

Cars are just cars to pilots

Split window! Split window! Split window!! And for the record, I think cars and airplanes are tied for me. Cars are just so much more accessible with shows nearly every weekend and the opportunity to get on the track almost any day of the week. Or maybe I just feel that way now because my...

What's best readily available product to clean plane belly?

My boyfriend who is the most particular person in the world when it comes to washing his cars sometimes uses a waterless wash concentrate by Ultima. It's great for getting grease loosened up and it's cheap, too. I have yet to find a reason why it wouldn't be safe for the airplane so I'll be...

How much wind will you guys fly in?

I have just over 100 hours and I'm happy for up to 14kts of direct crosswind so in my 182. It's the gusting that I still don't like too much because it can change on you in an instant and doesn't leave much time to react.

    The North...Northeast...

I'm from Colorado and I hate to admit it but I've never heard of this rule. Maybe that's because the only funeral procession I've seen was for a military member and they shut the whole road down. I would not, in a million years, have honked at someone for stopping though, I don't think the...

How to Preflight your Cirrus (A Satire)

"They tell you you wanna check the brakes on these like by looking at these dots but honestly, I'm just gonna say the plane's not moving."

    East coast: wedding proposal recommendations

Take her to an airport near a shopping mall (women love shopping), ask her to pick out something she likes, buy her that thing, tell her to get changed into it, take her back to the airplane, set up a camera in the distance to record (while she thinks it's on a self-timer) (or find someone who...

    How far is your hangar?

My hangar is about 55 minutes away, 45 if you take the tollway. The airport that is just a 10 minute drive from my house would cost about $500 more per month for a comparable hangar so I can't complain.

    Crossing the Rockies

I recommend Rock Springs to Laramie. The terrain is high compared to everywhere else along your route but it's not exceedingly mountainous, which is good in the case of an emergency landing.
