    Seeing and avoiding...

    One thing that also helps is having your landing, recognition or other lights on, if possible. I know sometimes that isn't an option based on electrical or overheating issues but it does make YOU more visible to the other guy... One of my client's SOPs is if the rotor's turning then all lights...

    Instruments Used for Another Purpose?

    When setting up for an approach and landing while hand flying, I'd twist the heading bug on an EFIS AP controller to the ATIS or reported winds... Just have to remember not to engage the AP by mistake!
