What kind of quick drain is this?

Really? It seems that only the center portion (~3/8" dia) of mine protrudes past the hex area. On the one shown it seems there is an outer area with larger diameter that protrudes past the hex. At least that's what I think I see from the pic. Am I missing something?

What kind of quick drain is this?

Looking to change the oil in my arrow (my first time at it) and found this quick drain installed. I haven't had any luck finding a similar looking one seaching them out in available pics on the web. In any case, I need the probe to do the job without making a mess. Anyone know what type it is...

I flew east at 8,500' (and no one said anything)

I still have a slight issue with the near north and south directions. As it is I fly between two airports that put me on a 350/170 course fairly regularly. On one trip i crossed paths with a Mooney at the same vfr altitude. We may have been about 20 degrees off from reciprocal headings...

    Available fuel in a Piper

To the original topic: I've had the same concern in my arrow. I've adopted the practice of making sure that nearly all of my 1 hour planned reserve is available in one of the tanks while sagging the level in the other tank while I still have altitude to burn. I do it for the exact reasons...

    Odd Pattern Entry - HELP

What seems odd from my experience is the right downwind part. It happens pretty frequently that students return from the west to KLNK to land on the east parrallel runway. The instruction then was always right or left base depending on landing direction. When the west runway had active traffic...

    Flying with a baby

Flew with mine at 6 months. In a auto carseat, in back, with mom, with peltor infant/ child hearing protection headset (no audio). Slow altitude changes and she was oblivious. Played and slept. I'll post a pic if I can find it.

    Not my proudest moment

I understand this is actually the reason for the hole that's drilled in the rolling switches that they use for dimmers. To indicate if they are rolled to the off position or not. This came up in my first flight in an arrow. The instructor didn't do it on purpose but on the return to base...

    Downside to ownership - complacency

I've subscribed to this forum for a few weeks now in hopes of picking up bits just like this to hopefully save my *** someday. The final 360 is one of those things that I'll be sure to include from now on. Seems pretty obvious now, but I hadn't thought of it before. Goes right along with "the...
