Best location/school for accelerated training without a car?

Yes, I believe they expanded the Torrance operation to San Diego recently. Other than being the owner of a SLING 2, I have no involvement with the school. I know the co-owners, before they had the school. They are knowledgeable and trustworthy people.

Best location/school for accelerated training without a car?

Sling Academy, at Torrance CA, KTOA. Many programs available. Finish up your PPL or take it to the airlines. Reasonably priced in modern TTA aircraft

    NYC Touch & Go?

In the ’90’s, when based at FRG, had a controller friend at the tower at JFK. We would call up after departing FRG while transiting the exclusion, 500 feet along the shore, and get cleared for one or sometimes two touch n go’s, left traffic. Most were just before midnight or just after. Never...

    Sub lost contact over Titanic

I suspect you are correct. It’s rumored that, the US NAVY picked up an explosion on Sunday. I would think it was shared with the USCG. What played out after that is theater, IMO. So sad, may they RIP

    Prop Identification

Thanks all. Hey Kent, I’m gonna say your photo is right on, so Helldiver or P-47. P-47 was my first guess also. You guys rock, thanks so much. I’m gonna forward Kent’s photo to my neighbor.

    Prop Identification

So, my neighbor purchased this Prop, on a whim, at a barn sale. Anyone have an idea of what it’s off of? Here are the picks I took of the Prop, Hub and one of the only set of numbers I could find.

Best twin for building multi/complex time besides the Seminole

I owned a Grumman Cougar and can attest to its economy compared to several other light twins. The only negative is the fact they rarely come up for sale and there aren’t that many of them compared to similar twins. Only 115 or so were built and only a few were “lost”. Support is good, the...

    Pickup Truck Thoughts

Finally said goodbye to my 2011 F-250 Lariat crew cab. 145k on the odometer, regular oil changes and tore rotations every 5k miles. Serpentine belt at 140k plugs at 99k, 6 sets of tires or was it 7…I lost track. So, after 11yrs and 8 months it was time to move on, as it was starting to nickel...

    B17 crash at Dallas.

Yes, you are correct. CAF’s “F” was the lone survivor of only 2 produced, until its unfortunate crash. The only “One Off” version was a “D” model, with a bubble canopy like the P-51. Sadly, it too is long gone.

    B17 crash at Dallas.

It appears the P-63, owned by the Dallas CAF, was a one off, only “P63F” model produced. If in fact it is the aircraft. RIP those lost today…

Familiar story, turns base after straight in calls 3 mile final.

Had the same scenario happen to me a month ago, also by a Cirrus straight in. I advised the Cirrus that I’d extend and he was appreciative, as he was about to terminate his landing and go around. I was more pi**ed yesterday when a 172 landed, rolled out and sat short of leaving the runway with...

I just paid $700 for a tire change

To the OP, did you “respectfully” call him on this (overcharge)? If you no longer plan on using him, don’t mind burning down a bridge and and feel the need to alert others…Place a “comment” in the comment sections of ForeFlight and AirAv.
