    Oil dipstick broke ......darn. Suggestions?

Hello gurus of aviation. Today we lost the dip stick. It broke right at the edge. I'm attaching photos. Should we try and weld this? Could I just get the broken part elsewhere, replace it and mark it? All ideas comments suggestions and suppliers are welcomed. Thanks have a nice weekend...

    Intermittent mode c

I appreciate the replies. Yes it's been happening, first thing the shop said, was to change the encoder, so I bought a new a-30 altitude encoder. Same problem, intermittent altitude, so the next step was to "clean" the connector end on the chassis . Same problem, this week the'll try to...

    Intermittent mode c

Hello guys. Quick question. My transponder is starting to ack up. A kn64 It intermittently drops mode c, then sends it back again. Can I legally fly from klrd to KSAT and back? It worked last time 90% of the time, got a warning and was told to check it out immediately. , I'm having it...

    MMSD vs. MMSL?

Hello. I reached my buddy that flies there often. CSL ( San Lucas) is in fact as mentioned, private and more expensive. Fuel, services, etc. San Jose, SJD is the regular government operated Airport, the one used by airliners. He recommends San Jose, if you are renting car or using taxi, the...

    MMSD vs. MMSL?

I fuel at MMTC, there are two fbo which I don't use, one is really really chic, gets very high end traffic thus it is quite costly. But you can skip the fbo. I'll try to reach a buddy of mine that flies frequently to cabos and ask him. I'll try to report back here. ;) Sent from my iPad using...

    MMSD vs. MMSL?

As reference , if no fbo is involved, and no immigration You do not need to close a flight plan. It is done automatically when you arrive. When you leave you need to go to SENEAM office to file the flight plan, then with the flight plan go to the Operations office which usually is nearby, and...

    MMSD vs. MMSL?

Must be Mistake. One note. The airport fees are always low. The fbo can charge whatever they want for their services. If you don't want the fbo service, and have cleared customs. Just park at the ga ramp. Give gas ring or gave and they will pump gas. Enjoy

    JPI FluelFlow FS450 odd readings

So It does have moving parts, I thought it was an ultrasonic o touch less kind of sensor; and I'm guessing the wheel does not stop the fuel flow when it does get stuck? It does not occupy 100% of the tubing or flow body? I have not seen a cutout or schematic specific for the jpi. Can it be...

    JPI FluelFlow FS450 odd readings

Hello guys, one for the Gurus... I´ve had a trusty FS450 running on my Cessna 182N for years now. Spot on readings. Today, just after takeoff, the reading went from standard 15gph to 10, 8, 5, 0. The engine did not stutter or loose RPM. Thank God!. it stayed at zero for some minutes...

Cell coverage for iPad data AT&T or Verizon. While on air

In Texas from klrd to ksat, khyi, kaus at 7500ish I get cell and data coverage from AT&T around 70-80% of the time, and I know the no coverage spots are the same that when I drive that route and my cell drops from 4g to edge. I have not tested verizon in that area.
