    RSV vaccine

What I kept reading was recommended for 60+ but the language wasn't too specific. For the past year our household seems to just get every single stupid ailment that's going around. I've had enough of that.

    RSV vaccine

Is the RSV vaccine available for anyone or is it limited to older folks?

    Wealth Distribution in America

Say what you want about Elon but if it wasn't for him the US probably would be out of the game on anything space related right now. Not to mention all the advancements Tesla motors made for electric cars. Or starlink... which is the only reason I have decent broadband internet here in the woods.

    Wealth Distribution in America

I think when you start talking about what wages/net worths are wealthy vs poor things get really sketchy. What I would consider well off here in my rural area where you can still find homes in the $100k and sometimes under that range is going to be considerably different than what someone...

    Wealth Distribution in America

Something related I've had on my mind since the 2008 bailouts is why do we have institutions that are "too big to fail"? Beyond that we have so many industries with little competition where you have very close communication between the CEOs, regulators, and politicians. Big companies will have...

    Wealth Distribution in America

I always just thought this was a weird way of looking at things. Some people are doing really well, good for them. I don't see how their success is making me any worse off. I don't pretend to know what everyone is going through everywhere but all the friends I grew up with are doing ok. I...

EFBs - New Advice From Our Friends At the FAA

Yeah after looking through the whole document, I would agree with that. I suspect this is targeted at commercial operators more than private pilots.

Come on it's just some silly humor. Don't be meme Nazis.

Basic Med if you don't have a doctor

An issue I’ve seen around here is if you call up and try to establish a primary care doc they’ll set you up with a nurse practitioner instead. Probably fine for general wellness but I’m sure not FAA acceptable.

    Auto engine diagnostic qeustion (NA)

If there's no milkshake in the oil/coolant other possibilities are old valve seals letting a bit of oil drip into the cylinders that burns off shortly after the next startup which can probably just be ignored if there's no significant oil consumption. Another thought is it could be...

What are these symbols on this taxi diagram?

Windsock was one of my guesses but then I looked at several other diagrams of fields I know well and there was no windsock marker... in fact just randomly looking I couldn't find any other diagrams with these on them but I'm sure they exist someplace. Wonder why this diagram shows it and most...

What are these symbols on this taxi diagram?

I feel like I should know this but I can’t remember having seen these before and I can’t find it on the legend- circled in red.

    After Prebuy problems

On my last plane there was an inop CDI that wasn't caught. Worth noting first annual with a new mechanic tends to result in many little fixes adding up to a higher bill. Just because a different guy with different experience will notice different things.

Man who crashed snowmobile into a parked Black Hawk helicopter suing government for $9.5M

Yeah as a pilot and a snowmobiler it seems to me that both the pilot and snowmobiler were operating within what they thought were reasonable practices. I imagine an airport section of a trail would function a lot like the lake crossings I ride on- it's the long straightaway where you open the...

Would you be interested in some form of back-up propulsion for your piston single? If yes, how much would you be willing to pay for it?

I think everyone is interested in that but aside from a twin the only workable thing would seem to be a parachute.

If you have a stabilator, this is worth the watch.

I know my A&P always has that fairing off at annual but as far as I know he just looks it over and lubes everything. If I understand this issue correctly you wouldn't be able to detect a problem without removing the bolt which I don't expect most mechanics would do without a reason.

If you have a stabilator, this is worth the watch.

Nice, that's what I was looking for. My next question is should we also be looking at the other bolt(part 108) and the associated bushings? Same basic part and in the same mechanism.

    Fuel rewards credit cards.

There's an AOPA card that will give you 2% back on FBO purchases. Not much but more than nothing. It seems like these days there is a rewards card for almost everything- I have a few for things I spend a lot on but I've held back on signing up for more. It wouldn't take long to have a dozen...

How anti GA is the main stream media?

They just think anything involving airplanes or airports is automatically a story. The general public and news media doesn't know much of anything when it comes to GA and I don't think they really care that much about us.
