Am I cold and heartless? ie Jerk?

Since 9/11 the media has learned that making everyone a victim elicits great ratings. Great ratings elicits more advertising revenue. And there you have it.

    Cessna VS Piper

Cessna obviously. Because a Cessna 150 is easier to buy,own and maintain than a Piper Meridian. Next meaningless question??? :D

    2015 F150

I have a 97 F150. It has 145K on it and has run like a top. My last 150 was a 88 with the 300cuin straight 6. I traded it in at 299k. It had cost me only a timing gear, oil, antifreeze, gas and grease over all that mileage.

Southwest Pilot lands at wrong airport

If the runways had the same headings and were of comparable length it might be understandable. But this is really weird. :nonod: (Am I the only guy who punches "Direct to" when getting handed off for a visual??)

    iPad mini and IFR

Maybe I'm just an old guy in a rut, but after flying for years and developing a scan pattern with my plates clipped on the yoke it just seemed a natural progression to mount my mini there. I use FF Pro and having a geo-referenced plate right where I am used to looking is a huge plus. YMMV.

has anyone heard of a MOA collision?

Yeah it was a classic procedural/systemic failure. RCC Alameda was not talking to FACSFACSD, and FACSFACSD was not doing a very good job keeping track of 1705 as it entered and left W-291 on the SAR pattern. The Cobra that collided with 1705 had its anti collision lights turned off as is SOP...

    Someone explain "trolling" to me.

It is a device used by some to compensate for the shortcomings nature has dealt them. Such as being a Private SEL. :stirpot:

    Landing

Landing is easy. You just have to position the aircraft over a pre-selected spot on the runway at just above stall speed and then slowly drift to the ground. Of course how you do this is different depending on altitude, temperature, loading, wind, etc etc etc. If anyone tries to tell you...

    NAVY HELO DOWN

Must have hit really hard. If they were practicing minesweeping they would have been at low altitude with little time to react to a mechanical issue. I can only imagine the drag from the sweeper is tremendous. From what I read the seas were pretty flat. (1-2 ft). Tough news.

has anyone heard of a MOA collision?

While not specifically a MOA, I lost a very good friend in a mid-air in the warning area just east of San Clemente Island.
