    PIREP on iPro Aviator/M

Does it interfere with GPS signal at all? Did ForeFlight keep locked onto your location while the cover is closed.. or did it take some time to re-establish your location? I'm also curious if they've added magnets to the cover so that the ipad mini would know to turn off the screen when the...

    Solution to GA dying?

Is it really the FAA certification price that causes the aircraft to cost so much? I've always wondered what makes a C172/DA40 cost north of $300,000 new.. it doesn't seem like there's that much to them! I 100% agree that the biggest threat to general aviation is the cost of entry. It used to...

    Solution to GA dying?

You don't think that people would pay $140 / $150 an hour for a new DA40 or SR20? It seems like people pay that around here pretty regularly (Las Vegas).

Are you a member of a flight club?

Just an idea - if there was a "national flight club" or something to where you could get checked out once and then fly wherever you were.. would that be better than the local club model?

Any tips/advice on flying into San Juan Island, WA?

Can you jettison the doors on a 172? I know on the Remos that's on the checklist for ditching.

Are you a member of a flight club?

I've loved flying the DA40s so much I've thought about trying to open a rental service around a few DA40s to people visiting Las Vegas (and LA). Let me know if that sounds interesting... I just got my EAA membership. I'm looking forward to getting my membership info and joining the local...

Are you a member of a flight club?

Very interesting. I'd think that the dues would start to add up and that most people would sort of pick a club and stick with it. That said, the neighboring club's SR20 calls to me when I see it taxi by. I've never been in a Cirrus - someday I'll have to try it out.

Are you a member of a flight club?

I fly out of HND.. I'm in Monarch Sky down here - good people, just more of a training club I guess :) Do people often join more than one club in order to gain access to more types of aircraft?

Are you a member of a flight club?

I actually had tried to do some google searches for this topic, google loves to autocorrect me to fight club. Fun times! :)

Are you a member of a flight club?

Very interesting. I never actually took the time to do research on out of town flig clubs, since it's generally so troublesome to get checked out, insured, etc while on vacation. I would if it was easier though! I guess my club is more of the front for a flight school type. I assumed that a...

Are you a member of a flight club?

That's certainly true - sorry, I didn't mean to sound like I'm entitled to anything ;) I meant - isn't it incumbent upon the flight club to organize it's members by providing activities or a calendar, or even a way to know who the members of the club are so that you can do that yourself...

Are you a member of a flight club?

I'm wondering.. if you're a member of a flight club, why did you join it? Are you totally happy with your club? I joined my flying club after getting my ticket because that's where I did my flight school. I knew the people, knew the planes, etc. The club doesn't really do much in the way of...

Best aviation software for android phones?

For the FAR/AIM I was using a PDF I found somewhere and a basic PDF reader with search functionality. Worked on the phone. --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=35.931368,-115.092884

Working on a new website - SocialAero

The last thing I'd want to have happen is a pilot get in trouble for using SocialAero. Thank you for that link - very interesting. It states that the pilot would be OK if they had a common purpose for the flight, giving the example of transporting racers and a pilot who wanted to watch the...

Working on a new website - SocialAero

I'd also considered doing the whole site as a flight club to get around that, but then I'd have to collect dues, etc. I think at that point, it'd be no different than pilots using their club's message boards to do the same? By the way, don't even both searching "flight club rules".. the first...

    Windy and Bumpy Today

Sounds like my very first cross country. Mid July, Las Vegas to Big Bear california. No wind, but woah were the desert thermals in effect on the return. I'd never been bounced around in a DA20 like that before! Glad you made it back in one piece. Even when you know turbulence isn't going to...

Working on a new website - SocialAero

I guess my main concern was whether or not the site was easy to use and straightforward as to what it is. Is it obvious what the site is about? Is there a feature that you'd want that's missing? Do you think people would actually use a site like this? I'm the only developer on the...

Working on a new website - SocialAero

Hmm.. I thought you could do whatever you wanted as a private pilot so long as the pilot paid his/her pro rata share.. ah.. the fun interpretations of the FARs! I'd think that just wanting to go to Raleigh would be a common purpose for the flight. I suspect most of the trips will be more of the...
