Is there an LED Replacement for the Whalen A610 strobe tube? The A610 is almost $200.

TIA

An LED wouldn’t use the power supply. You could use an LED replacement lamp and wire around the power supply but it won’t be synched.

I’ve replaced a couple if my wingtip strobe tubes in the past couple of years and they weren’t nearly that expensive. I don’t think they were Whelen but they plugged right in. Bought from a local Cessna Service Center. Much less than $200.

Try eBay, though you may want to search for "whelen."

If thinking of replacing the tail strobe, check out:

On the other hand if you have wingtip strobes you may not legally need the tailtip strobe:

you need to check one more piece of the puzzle, the STC that applies to the instillation of the strobes. The STC could have been approved with all three installed and no option to install just two even if the light pattern covers the regulation.

I put this in my Archer as a replacement for the rotating beacon years ago, intended for Cessna 180, but STC for other aircraft. It is inexpensive but the nice thing about it is replacement tubes were, IIRC, $15-25. My IA has remarked how much I’ve saved over the years, compared to other Whelen alternatives.
