Thanks for the input, I want to build a plane myself to get certified and for the experience in general. Of course this will be well after I get my PPL, and will not be my first plane.

Was looking at some RV4s and I like the seat configurations much beter than the side-by-sides. Seems a little cheaper too.

What are some good text books for general aviation mechanic maintenance? Found one online for free but doesn't go into a lot of detail. Can anyone offer a fair priced text?

Only if its still turned on, if its off its no big deal compaired to if its on. My dad is a quality control inspector for the airlines; he used to be a mechanic aswell.

I'm in Northern Arizona, but I would travel further south if there was a really good instructor that is highly recommeded.
