Garmin just dropped a bomb on the avionics market...

Well, guess the GPS400W I just put in a month ago for $4450 is now worth much less.. Looks like a nice unit.

    LPV / WAAS Upgrade

Yet another struggle, the #2 Nav/Com is struggling and I think it's time for replacement (Narco MK12D). Plane currently has GTX335 ADS-B out/ KX-155/ MK12D/KLN-90A/PS7000B setup. Looking for the best approach to get rid of the MK12 and get LPV at the same time. Garmin 430W used? Just suck it up...

    Equipment Codes non WAAS GPS

Just bought a 182P with a pretty basic IFR setup. Aircraft has two nav/comms (KX-155 / Narco MX-12) with dual G/S, and a working KLN-90A with the IFR paperwork. Transponder is KT-76A w/ Mode C. I'm a new IFR pilot and trying to figure out what the appropriate equipment code is (AIM table 5-1-3)...

Hangar used for storage not aircraft

Subletting and non-aircraft related storage is pretty rampant at my home-drome, which is FAA funded. Any suggestions on lobbying with the local airport? or FAA?

    Getting nervous about IFR checkride

Just passed my checkride. Hardest checkride i've taken (will be the 4th total). Examiner was brutal.. will never use him again.. Just remember, keep pushing even if he/she is tearing you up the entire flight. Keep trucking and move on..

    Cessna 182 vs 177

Sounds like everyone is point towards a buy-once and cry once. Doing more reading, the 182 fuel burn is not as bad as thought compared to the 177. Still on the fence, thanks to all for the input.

Anyone have a 182 buyer's guide floating around for sale?

    Cessna 182 vs 177

Appreciate everyone posting a response, I can add that high altitudes are really not a factor here given we are Virginia flatlanders, most we would be looking at is 4 hour trips from VA to KY or longer trips to FL. No high altitude out west ops planned. I'm not super enamored with any RG options...

    Cessna 182 vs 177

Posting when tired is dangerous. Sorry, to correct the previous post, the wife wants only a high wing airplane for ease of entry/exit. Trust me, i'd rather have the low wing but i'd much rather have a flying companion. Seems like for the 2+ cargo mission the 177 is a better aircraft?

    Cessna 182 vs 177

Sorry for the not-another-airplane comparison thread. Looking for advice on a better suited aircraft for my mission. Right now flying about 5-10 hours per month in a Grumman AA1. I'd like to upgrade and the spouse wants a low-wing aircraft. Mission is IFR/VFR with 2-4 hour trips on the east...

    Searching for Oil Temp Thermistor

I was able to get in contact with Stewart Warner and I have the spec sheet for the 362EW and a more modern 362AD-J sender. Can anyone host them on the forum?
