What's happening now is the engine cut before liftoff is given so slow that it is not a realistic sudden yaw that occurs near lift-off, or after lift-off at a well-established climb-out so as not to be a danger to the Examiner.
Neither of these scenarios simulates the real- life action required...
Oh no, good sir. Knee-jerk muscle-memory responses can be trained.in any twin-motor asymmetrical thrust machine. Performance is in the pilot, not the machine.
....and to the poster who compares military pilots to civilian pilots who don't/can't buy more training: that difference can and does...
Engine cuts right after lift-off. That's where the killing accidents happen. And don't use the "too dangerous" excuse.
We did it in the Army. The check ride was going to be an engine cut in one of three places: about 10 knots before rotation speed (Baron B-55) or just after lift-off with...
61.129(a) Aeronautical Experience for a commercial pilot applicant says, under (3) "20 hours of training on areas of operation in 61.127(b)(1) that includes solo flight time...."
This is how the certification regs read. They always have. Each certificate requirement starts with the training...
Due to the absolute law of Primacy, much like the law of Gravity, which is constantly in effect whether you are conscious of it or not, initial touch and control of the rudder for directional/heading authority during take off and landing is best learned, initially, in the tailwheel because...
Spend all of that 100 hours practicing for your CFI. Start right away flying from the right seat doing everything teeny little thing as described in the PTS and talking yourself thru it until you are CFI checkride ready at 250hrs.
Also becoming commercial checkride ready along the way, but...
Actually , the safety pilot is responsible for whatever the PIC tells him/her that he/she is responsible for when they do the required briefing prior to the flight.
And, that responsibility is only to the PIC, since the PIC is still the responsible person for the flight.
To prepare yourself for that charter flight in the middle of a dark and stormy night to a grass unlit field to rescue a kid needing a heart transplant.
With no GPS or radio navs to find it.
You looking to work?
Thanks Clip, I was looking for that part of the reg.
Some will say that only applies to the initial solo endorsement, but I cannot find where it says that.
I just see any solo authorization.
