Hello all: I have a deal in place to buy an Archer in the Richmond area. Looking for recommendations for a pre-buy mechanic/shop in the area. Thanks in advance!
Jason Schappert has a great website (https://www.m0a.com/) and YouTube channel and has a flight school in Ocala (http://schappaviation.com/) - website for flight school isn't that great though. Another flight school on the field as well that seems to be more oriented to professional training...
Congratulations to you Captain. I happen to know with absolute certainty that you have a VERY NICE airplane to enjoy in your retirement. Now you have no excuse not to drop into the Jacksonville area and say hello to it's former owner....
Could not agree more - the entire story is very sad and disturbing, especially as it relates to the impact to family and loved ones, but also to the aviation community itself. The reason I think most of us - and certainly myself - try to analyze accidents like this is to take away lessons that...
Good point on the heading, and it goes back to his initial request for an altitude of 8000 feet: not only did he ask for IFR altitude, he asked for even when it should have been odd. How could you possibly get a certificate without this being "muscle memory" type knowledge? It should be as...
If you listen to ATC recordings, he did call ground at his home field (Page Field - FMY), for flight following. Actually did it right at first (except he called ground asking for tower), even saying that he had the correct ATIS information. The controller got frustrated by his request for an...
All the answers make it clear that I should buy it outright or form a new LLC to buy it. Makes sense - seems that the "due diligence" effort, potential risks, and legal/accounting fees outweigh any potential benefit. Thanks to all who have submitted replies/answers.
I am trying do you get a sense of what the pitfalls are. And of course what does pre-buy on the LLC would look like. See earlier reply re reasons for buying LLC
Thanks for the response.
I'm considering purchasing an airplane that's in an LLC. It is a Florida LLC and I live in Florida as well. Can anyone share how to do a sale of LLC that reflects normal pre-purchase items like deposit, pre-buy, deposit, etc?
What are the pitfalls?
It shouldn't be an issue. I checked this issue thoroughly and had a similar history - the AME in this instance is allowed to issue the medical. I would perhaps have a conversation with the AME before he/she actually commits to the process.
Here's the guidance for AME's...
I found this video on YouTube it works pretty well:
I soak dryer sheet in water and gently rub bugs first, keep wet then come back after they are softened. The dryer sheet substance along with water seems to soften them faster and more thoroughly than just water.
I have found this to be a very individualized issue. I have tried some expensive (from my optometrist) progressives where I had the same problem. The larger frame cheaopos from Zenni work great for me and the transition is more gradual. I have also found the frames make a huge difference -...
