CFI ? Students with previous training/endorsements from another CFI

I have a new student who has had recent training and solo endorsements from another CFI. Do I need to retrain/ pre-solo test and overwrite his previous endorsements in his logbook.

X-country from San Diego to upper Mid-West

Thanks I appreciate the advice. This is something I never got to do flying trainers....it was all in the midwest then straight off to the Army. I have to be honest, I haven’t been this excited to fly cross country in years. (And I do it full time) I guess its that feeling of “if I could go back...

X-country from San Diego to upper Mid-West

All comments are welcomed. The majority of my flight time is turboprops and helios so performance was never an issue which could be a dangerous transition back to single engine pistons. Flight will take right after the holiday (weather permitting). Will avoid Night and low IFR. 2 pilots and...

X-country from San Diego to upper Mid-West

Thats great info, So the flight will be done in the next week or two. I planned 11,500 along Victor airways via TNP EED KPRC INW GUP KSAF then around the horn and back to KDSM via KLVS. I believe the airplane has an oxygen bottle so can go higher if needed. Ive flown back and forth from KOFF to...

X-country from San Diego to upper Mid-West

Serious question for whoever is familiar with flying single engine airplanes from the west coast. Planning a trip to ferry a Cherokee 6/300 from San Diego, KSEE to Des Moines, KDSM. I don’t have a lot of single engine piston time. Does anyone have a common or most preferred route through the...

    Thinking about a train

Crazy stuff, I was a manager at GR, mostly Soda Ash traffic but the Yard too... So reinstating cardinal rules and building 15K ft trains out of GR Yard, huh?? Thats got to be the Anaconda plus 3&4 Mains doubledover+midtrain DPUs. What a nightmare. How are they flowing Z-trains with the East CPU...

    Thinking about a train

I left my position as an MTO in 2015. UP had just laid off over 1500 non-agreement positions system wide and the superintendent held me and 2 MYOs responsible for 24 hour coverage until they “reassessed” their manpower strategy for TE&Y managers. I stayed on long enough to get my bonus then...

    Thinking about a train

That’s cool, I really enjoyed my time with the UPRR as a Conductor. However, working RR management was very taxing on my soul. Totally rubbed against the grain of my personality. Round the clock teleconferences, Horsepower, TPOB (Tons per Operative Brake) and on-schedule departures were my...

    Thinking about a train

I took that photo in Green River, Wyoming. They were running a commemorative ride throughout the whole system for their 150th anniversary

Airline/Professional Pilot Interview & driving record

Howdy, wanna tack on a question about driving history and thoughts. I am both civilian & military pilot, 22 years total service with a TS/SCI. Helicopters and Airplanes, ATP, Instructor pilot, have held a Class 1 blah blah. I just pulled my driving record and its atrocious. 1993-2007 14...
