    Requesting FBO/concrete parking?

I'd like to fly our Mooney Rocket to OSH this year. With barely 8" of prop clearance I'm hesitant to take it through the grass for obvious reasons. Even more so after reading through a long thread on mooneyspace from a guy who had a prop strike in his a few years ago and the nightmare that...

Garmin GI275 Install and Test Flight in a Mooney 305 Rocket

Yeah, they didn't ask. TBH, I thought they would just be like the airspeed indicator and altimeter in the panel...but figured something was up if they had to that. I'll ask them for sure. If they can just take it off and it looks normal, I'd be fine with that too.

Garmin GI275 Install and Test Flight in a Mooney 305 Rocket

Brought my GoPro out to record the first flight in our 305 Rocket with a brand spankin' new pair of Garmin GI-275's. Videos of these things in the wild seem to be pretty tough to come by and I know a lot of folks are interested in these, so I thought I'd make one and share. The reason we went...

    Austin/San Marcos Training

find something down south - even using the toll road (which will get pricey) that's just too far. You'll get a similar experience in San Marcos with a towered field, etc... which was a really valuable learning experience during training. I don't know is down there besides Redbird and I don't...

Traveling for the check ride / DPE

I am based out of KGTU (north of Austin, TX) and flew to Waco, TX to do my PPL checkride. I think for the most part schools have experience with certain DPE's so they know how to coach students, etc... on what to expect. I flew with a newly minted CFI who did several checkrides with the DPE I...

    Austin, TX area airparks

I live in Leander which is slightly south of Liberty Hill. Thanfully, I pretty much work from home and my office is on the north side of town so I don't have to deal with the downtown commuters even when I do drive in...but a daily commute from Liberty Hill to downtown proper would be brutal...

XM Radio Reciever that allows multiple BT headsets to connect?

like what? I already have an intercom system however my radio stack is older and doesn't have an AUX or BT capability. So, just trying to figure out how to grab a portable XM type radio and then get everyone to connect to that via BT (using Lightspeed and Bose headsets) while also being...

XM Radio Reciever that allows multiple BT headsets to connect?

Does anyone know of a XM type (doesn't matter the provider) that allows multiple BT headphone connections - ideally 4? I can't seem to find anything that fits that bill...

Partnership info you'd be willing to share

good point Sam. We actually just had to invoke a clause in our bylaws to force a buy-out of one of our members for exactly that reason.

Partnership info you'd be willing to share

Setup a LLC with the plane as the asset. Elect officers, partners get shares, stock certificates, file a tax return, create bylaws, etc... I'm happy to share ours with you if you want. I'm in a 4 way partnership that was formed 17 years ago (I've been in it for 4 of those) and it's been...
