At his own peril? So a guy wants to go camping he misses a test and the FAA revokes medical. Seems logical right?

I got one. A pilot I know in the program isn’t allowed to take a vacation (international) as the AME believes he will consume alcohol. The individual isn’t allowed to go camping because he has to be within a testing site. Wtf?

bruce just stated y can drink at your home blamelessly. Let’s say you end up in the ER with a .163 because someone broke into your home and stabbed you?

Did the guy who got stabbed drink in a manner that created danger?

I’m not a doctor, just a pilot. But imagine how ridiculous it would be if the FAA went after individuals prescribed pain medications for after surgery relief. Although it wouldn’t shock me if they started to put pilots prescribed pain meds for 5 days into HIMS for substance abuse. But I believe...

As long as you aren’t prescribed opioids it shouldn’t be a issue. (Don’t go take a physical if you’re currently on them). I was prescribed 5 days worth of OxyContin for a surgery was not an issue (didn’t even mention it as the form asks for medications currently being taken)

A doctor can be knowledgeable while having poor bedside manner, as is the case here. The person in question doesn’t have the greatest online reviews.

I’m guessing this AME has a buddy in the area that is a HIMS AME. HIMS AMES greatly benefit from airmen going into the program. It’s a racket.

What about Uber/Lyft drivers? Or taxi drivers?
